The cancellation of the annual Stewart Father’s Day Pow wow gave us an opportunity to rethink how we share our culture with ourselves and others. We took a step back and asked what would be of most benefit to all? What story do we want to share this year?
We are pleased to present, This is Why We Dance: Honoring Native American Pow wow Culture, a free Zoom Webinar, August 19th, featuring voices from artists, dancers, singers and photographers who share their stories of what the Pow wow culture means to them. There is something for everyone! Live and prerecorded presentations by notable artists will highlight different aspects of Pow wows culture. For those new to Pow wow or are looking to enrich their viewing experience, experts will share “Powwow Etiquette”.
Our Master of Ceremonies will be Ruben Little Head, well-known for emceeing “The Gathering of Nations”, north America’s largest Pow wow.
